Ground hog day… How many more weeks of winter? “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening….’ You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times” (Matthew 16:3).
I’m on the west coast, two-hours behind my body time. It shows that I, that we are not in control of time. Time is where the Creator put us to live, not something we control. “Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit’; Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that’” (James 4:13-15).
“Thus says the Lord: ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.’ Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the Lord… And the word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying, ‘Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: ‘I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will add to your days fifteen years” (Isaiah 38:1).
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). “I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, ‘Do not be afraid' I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen” (Revelation 1:17-18).
