“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” If God created life in the beginning, it’s helpful in these first days of January to remember that your life continues to be a gift from your Creator.
“The earth,” Genesis reports, “was without form and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep.” What will the next 12 months bring you? Health and happiness or illness and sadness? Prosperity or struggling to make ends meet? Will light illuminate what comes your way or will you fear the darkness of the unknown?
“And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said…” His word changes things. “Then God said, ‘Let there be light’ and there was light.” Who better to illumine your year than the Creator of light? “In Your light we see light,” (Psalm 36:9). God speaks and light comes to our lives. Will we listen to the Word that will help us understand?
“And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.” (Genesis 1:1-5) God give light to the days of your New Year!
