Diane and I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas. May it be a blessed time for you, especially because the Christ who came long ago at Bethlehem still comes, comes in all the promises God gives us for our often struggling lives, promises that find their Yea and Amen in Christ Himself (2 Corinthians 1:20). And since life is not easy, not easy also for us who cling to the promises, may the Spirit these next days put all our joys and sorrows, our hopes and fears into perspective. Christ has come; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.
O Wisdom, come and teach us the way of prudence.
O Adonai and ruler of the house of Israel, come with an outstretched arm and redeem us.
O root of Jesse, to whom the nations will do homage, come quickly to deliver us.
O Key of David, come and rescue the prisoners who are in darkness and the shadow of death.
O Dayspring, come and enlighten those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death.
O King of the nations, come and save us all, whom You formed out of clay.
O Emmanuel, our king and our Lord, the anointed for the nations and their Savior, come and save us, O Lord our God!
P.S. The Minute will be off until January 3rd.
