“Hi, Christian here!” “Me too, Bubby.” “Yes, Connor. You too.”
“We visited Opa and Oma’s house. We had lots of fun. Sometimes I played ‘Angry Birds’ on Oma’s iPad.” “Bubby, I played ‘Skee Ball’ on Oma’s iPhone.” “I know, Connor.” Opa asked Oma what I was playing. Oma said, ‘A new version of ‘Angry Birds.’” Opa asked where the new version came from. Oma said, “Christian downloaded it from the app store. He must have learned my password.” Opa smiled. Children learn what they live.
“We were at Opa and Oma’s for four days. We asked questions but they didn’t have many answers. Last night I asked Opa where my Mommy was. He said he didn’t know. I said, ‘You’re her father. You should know where she is!’”
Opa said to Oma, “There’s a statistic here in the St. Louis Business Journal. A 4-year-old asks on average 437 questions a day.” Let’s see. Christian is 5, Connor is 3, so how many thousands of questions did they ask these last 4 days?
The house is quiet now. The toys are sitting idle. Liz, Darren and the boys are driving back home to D.C. “Be still,” God says. “Children are a heritage from the Lord.” (Psalm 46:10; 127:3)
